Okay, for all you prospective students hoping to be admitted to Miskatonic University, here's your chance to bone up on the Mythos. Be forewarned, though: Miskatonic's entrance tests can be killer.
Today's section of the Lovecraft S.A.T. consists of four multiple choice questions. Those willing to give it the ol' college try can submit their answers as a comment to this post (if no one comes up with the correct responses by tomorrow, I'll add the answer key myself).
Good luck, Lovecraft lovers. Hope to see you on the Arkham campus in the fall.

The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." I usually don't do well with tests, but if there's a possibility of running into you on the Arkham campus I'm willing to take my chances...

Great job, jerseygirl. You aced the test. Looks like you'll have a stellar first year at Miskatonic. (Just watch out for the initiation rituals during Pledge Week!)
Some more info about the answers:
1.(C) noisome: don't let the first syllable fool you; this word has nothing to do with the sense of hearing, but rather refers to an offensive odor
2.(A) There should be no "h" at the end of Nyarlathotep
3.(B) This passage narrated by Thurston forms the opening of "The Call of Cthulhu"
4.(E) Like Lovecraft and Greene, Jackson and Hyman were husband and wife
